This knife is a laser. Beautiful and well-balanced. Razor sharp out of the box. It's always a joy doing business with Hocho. Nakagawa-san is an amazingly talented smith.

This knife did not come with the thinnest edge but that was easily fixable. This white steel holds an edge well, even with imperfect geometry (i am currently learning how to sharpen single bevel knives)

Not only it’s beautiful but Very light and so well balanced. I have several Japanese knives and this one is absolutely great. My wife loves it and I’m thinking about a second one as a present to my friend who’s a professional chef.
